Orto Botanico di Padova

The Orto Botanico di Padova (Botanical Garden of Padua) is a UNESCO World Heritage site located between Prato della Valle and the Basilica of St Anthony. Established in 1545, it is the oldest academic botanical garden in the world and serves as a center for scientific research, conservation, and education. The garden features a Biodiversity Garden with 3,500 plant species, a Botanical Museum, a Renaissance medicinal herb garden, and the famous Goethe’s Palm.

Visitors can choose between guided tours or self-organized visits, which include an audio guide available in multiple languages, including a children’s version. For the period of January and February, the garden is open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with last entry at 4:15 PM.
