Orto Botanico di Trieste

The Civico Orto Botanico di Trieste is a public botanical garden located on the Chiadino hill, founded on April 5, 1878, by Muzio de Tommasini and Bartolomeo Biasoletto. Divided into 12 distinct zones, the garden offers a serene environment with winding paths, ponds, and occasional sea views. It serves as a peaceful retreat from the city, featuring a diverse collection of plants and educational areas.

Admission to the garden is free. The opening hours vary by season. During the summer season, from April 1 to October 11, the garden is open Friday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In the winter season, from October 12 to March 31, the garden is closed. However, it remains open on National Holidays in 2026, even if they fall on usual closure days. Guided tours and educational activities are organized by CoopCulture.

The garden is located at Via Carlo De Marchesetti, 2, with an entrance via Scala San Luigi. It is accessible for people with motor disabilities.
