Palazzo Corvaja

Palazzo Corvaja is a medieval palace located in the historic center of Taormina, Sicily, situated on Corso Umberto at the corner of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and Santa Caterina. Dating back to the end of the 13th century with additions from the 15th century, the building was principally constructed at the end of the 14th century. It is named after the Corvaja family, one of Taormina’s oldest and most famous families, who owned the palace from 1538 to 1945.

The facade is built from Taormina stone and features mullioned windows with pointed arches and Corinthian capitals, reflecting its medieval origins. Today, the palace houses the Taormina Municipal Theatre, a significant cultural venue for the region.

Opening hours are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday through Sunday. The palace is closed on Mondays. Hours may vary on special days or holidays, so visitors are advised to check the official schedule and consider reserving a time slot in advance.
