Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Sperlonga

The Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Sperlonga is located on Via Valle Corsara and was built to house monumental sculptural groups discovered in the late 1950s within a sea-facing cave. This cave was part of a large residential complex, likely the praetorium of Emperor Tiberius, and was transformed in the early Imperial age into a mythological landscape featuring Homeric subjects around a circular basin. The museum displays these extraordinary sculptures, offering visitors a deep insight into Roman imperial art and architecture.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 08:30 to 19:30, with the museum specifically closing at 19:00. It is closed on Mondays. Last entry times vary by season: January (15:30), February/March (16:00), April–September (18:00), October (17:00), and November/December (15:00). Standard admission is €5.00, with a reduced rate of €2.00 for certain categories. An integrated ticket costs €10.00 and is valid for 30 days, covering both the Sperlonga museum and the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Formia. E-tickets are available via the "Musei Italiani" app.

Groups of up to 30 people, plus a guide, are allowed, but reservations are required via email to drm-laz.sperlonga@cultura.gov.it.
