Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara is a historic palace renowned for its unique frescoes, which offer a fascinating glimpse into Renaissance court life. Built in the 15th century for Borso d'Este, the palace is famous for the "Salone dei Mesi" (Hall of the Months), a series of frescoes depicting the months of the year, astrological signs, and mythological scenes. This artistic masterpiece reflects the intellectual and cultural interests of the Este family, blending pagan mythology with Christian symbolism.

The palace now houses the Museo Schifanoia, part of the Musei di Ferrara. Visitors can explore the frescoes and other collections during opening hours from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with last entry at 6:00 PM. The site is closed on Mondays, except for specific holidays such as Easter, Liberation Day, and Ferragosto. Admission costs €12 for full price and €9 for reduced rates. A combined ticket with Palazzina Marfisa d’Este is available for €15. Free admission is offered to minors under 18, people with disabilities (with a companion), school groups, and holders of the MyFe Card.

Reservations are highly recommended for both individuals and groups. Extraordinary visits outside standard hours are available for groups of at least 25 people, requiring seven days' notice. The experience is educational and visually striking, allowing guests to appreciate the intricate details of the frescoes and the historical context of the Este dynasty. Located in the heart of Ferrara’s UNESCO-listed historic center, Palazzo Schifanoia is an essential stop for those interested in art history and Renaissance culture.
