Baia del Silenzio (Bay of Silence)

Baia del Silenzio (Bay of Silence) is a picturesque, crescent-shaped bay located in Sestri Levante, Liguria, on the Italian Riviera. Situated on the eastern edge of the town’s peninsula, it is enclosed between the promontory of Punta Manara and a colorful seaside village. The bay is characterized by fine sand, calm waters, and pastel-colored historic buildings, offering a quintessential Mediterranean experience. It earned its poetic name in 1919 from Ligurian poet Giovanni Descalzo, who chose it to reflect the location's remarkable tranquility and relaxed atmosphere.

Sestri Levante is known as the "city of two seas," squeezed between the Baia del Silenzio and the more animated Baia delle Favole. While historically a quiet fishing village, the town has evolved into a popular tourist destination that maintains an authentic vibe suitable for families and young travelers. For the best experience with fewer crowds, visitors are advised to visit early in the morning or between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM.

Regarding access, a new tourist fee of €5 will be required starting in 2025. As a public beach area, there are no specific opening hours, but the fee applies during the tourist season.
